Welcome to Siskins Class!
Our teacher is Miss Burt, and we are supported brilliantly by Mrs Harvey every day. Miss Kee will teach on a Wednesday morning for PE.
Any of the teachers would be delighted to speak to you if you have any concerns, big or small.
Welcome to the second half of the spring term.
In English, we will be learning how to write stories with familiar settings, using adjectives. Then we will be learning how to write recounts from personal experiences. Throughout all of our English learning, we will focus on letter formation, finger spaces and capital letters.
In maths, we will be learning how to add and subtract numbers up to 20. We will be using our number bonds to 10, to help us understand number bonds to 20, and we will be learning how to double numbers. Then we will learning about place value of numbers up to the value of 50.
In science, we will be learning about materials. We will be looking at how to describe a range of materials, which materials are waterproof and which materials are transparent and opaque.
In history, we will be learning about Isambard Kingdom Brunel. We will be looking at what he did and his achievements. We will then compare Isambard with Mary Anning to look at the similarities and differences.
In PSHE, our unit of learning is ‘Healthy Me'. We will be looking at what things are healthy and unhealthy. We will be thinking about eating a well balanced diet, exercising, drinking well and sleeping well.
During PE lessons, we will continue to follow the ‘Real PE’ programme and Miss Kee will be teaching a dance sequence of learning.
In DT, we will be learning how to understand different materials. We will be investigating properties of various materials and learning how cement changes when we add water.
