Our teacher is Miss Atterbury; we are also supported brilliantly by Mrs Marles in the mornings. Mrs Robinson and Miss Kee teach us on a Friday morning. Any of the teachers would be delighted to speak to you if you have any concerns, big or small.
Firstly, I would like to wish you a Happy New Year! I hope you have had a fantastic Christmas and are looking forward to an exciting new year.
To start the new term, we will be learning all about the senses. In English, we will be retelling the story of Lucy's Picture. We will also be learning about the life of Louis Braille and what he did to help others to this day. We will be focusing on making our stories more interesting by thinking of sentence openers and using our phonics to spell different words. In science, we shall be learning about how we explore our world by using the five senses.
After the half term we will have an exciting new topic called, 'Superheroes'. In this topic the children will be using their imagination and creativity to produce some exciting pieces of writing. In maths, we will also be using a variety of mathematical skills and processes to solve a mystery.
We have PE every Monday and Friday and will be following the ‘Leap into Life’ and ‘REAL PE’ programmes. This term we will be looking at different ways we can move and balance.
Fluffy Bear (as named by the children) is the name of our class bear. Once a week on a Friday, he gets to go home with someone from the class. During the weekend please feel free to write about or take pictures of the things you get up to. Just talking about what you get up to is also fine.
