Nursery Manager Grade E – Permanent

8.30am – 3.30pm daily (32.5 hours per week)

38 weeks per year (term time only)

SALARY: Grade E SCP 16 – 22 (£13.66 - £15.26 per hour)

Required to start September 2023

LOCATION: Stowford School, Exeter Road, Ivybridge, Devon, PL21 0BG

This is an exciting opportunity to join Stowford School, which is part of Westcountry Schools Trust, currently employing approximately 2000 staff and growing.  Stowford School is a two-form entry school with an onsite nursery.

We are looking for a Nursery Manager who is creative, flexible and enthusiastic with a strong knowledge of how to support learning and provide care for children aged 3 -4 years. 

An Early Years qualification (NNEB, CACHE Level 3, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) is essential. 

The successful applicant should have:

  • a minimum of 2 years’ recent experience working in a Pre-school/Nursery setting, ideally in a senior practitioner or room-leader role
  • excellent working knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage and current Ofsted statutory guidance
  • knowledge and proven practical experience of implementing good quality learning opportunities.
  • a patient, calm and encouraging approach, with empathy and understanding of children under 5
  • the ability to build positive relationships with children and staff
  • effective team leadership and the ability to work as part of a team
  • excellent organisational skills
  • excellent verbal and communication skills with children and parents
  • good numeracy/literacy skills
