Welcome to Year 6 with Miss Hughes and Mrs Coaker.

Year 6  – Summer Term

The summer term promises to be an exciting one in Year Six. Our primary school journey comes to an end and we begin to think about transition to secondary school.

As we progress through May, Eagles class are primed and ready to begin the Key Stage 2 SATs. I have been so very impressed with their dedication, work ethic and determination to keep bettering themselves throughout the year. They have a huge range of knowledge and skills to show off and the highlight of the SATs week for most is definitely the bacon butties each morning!

Our writing this term will centre around World War Two. The children have loved getting to know the characters of William Beech and Mr Tom from 'Goodnight Mister Tom' and are looking forward to producing letters, diaries and stories based on the book.

Another area of great excitement this term is our Year Six production where the children will have chance to show off their singing, dancing and acting. The hotly-anticipated reveal of which show it will be is almost upon us. Recently we've performed Oliver Twist, Lion King, Aladdin.... what will it be this year!?!

In addition to this, we are also looking forward to sports days, our Wild Tribe trip to the moors, a visit from the evolution dome, the end of year water fight, the Y6 Leavers' assembly and our trip to Woodlands Theme Park!
