Welcome to the Fantastic Finches

Welcome to the Finches Class page. Our teacher is Mrs Tickner and she is supported by Mrs Medland.

This term we will continue to look at fiction and non-fiction writing. In our writing sessions, we will learn about how to join sentences in different ways and how to use different sentence types, including the correct use of punctuation. We will be writing books, based on Mary Anning who we have learnt about in guided reading, and writing a recount about our trip to Paignton Zoo.

In Maths, we will be learning about mass and capacity.  We will also continue remembering our learning in the four operations.

During our Computing lessons, we will be learning to design and create pictures using Dazzle.

In Music, we will be developing our singing skills and continue to use glockenspiels to perform a song.

In Art, we will be taking time to be creative, linking our learning to nature and our environment.

In DT, we will be learning about healthy choices we can make when choosing breakfast and snacks as well as how structures are formed.

During Geography lessons, we will learn about Dartmoor, our local environment, thinking about what it is like there and the pace humans can have on it.

In Science, we will be reviewing and remembering our learning about animals, plants and everyday materials.

PE will take place on a Monday and Tuesday. Children come into school in their PE kit on PE days. In addition to this, the children will have the opportunity to take part in Wild Tribe termly.
