Robins
Welcome to the Robins
The whole foundation team are so excited to see you all again after a wonderful Easter holiday.
Summer 1

This Term our topic is ‘Down on the Farm’. We will be exploring a variety of texts linked to farm animals; reading and writing our own stories.
In phonics, the children will be starting phase 4, which continues to revisit their digraphs and trigraphs in longer, more complex words. These words will feature many more adjacent consonants which adds difficulty to decoding.
The children will learn about what happens on a farm in the present day and also about how things have changed from the past. We will be finding similarities and differences with machinery and the way the animals are cared for.
In maths we will be concentrating on learning how to share equally and subtract numbers up to ten.
In our wider curriculum, we will be creating life-like farm animals from clay; looking at form and clay scoring and slip techniques.
We look forward to sharing some photographs with you soon on our Robins Class Dojo page and welcome any questions that you have. We are always available at the gate after school and in the mornings and if there are any messages please phone the school office and they will do their best to answer your query. Please be aware that any admin messages will need to go via the office, e.g. home-time arrangements and appointments.
Best wishes,
Mr Roberts and Mrs Hill
