Red Nose Day
Stowford School was a sea of red as children and staff dressed in something red to raise money for Comic Relief.
The children gave a donation for Red Nose Day which gave them a 30 minute slot during the day to participate in a number of games organised by Kestrels class. These included: the apple shy; penalty shootout; crossbar challenge (with the chance of winning a Champions League football); basketball hoops; nail painting and by far the most popular, the stocks. Children were invited to throw (soft) balls at their teacher who was secured in the stocks; a huge thank you to Mr Jackson and Kestrels for implementing such a fantastic day. But, that was not all! Kestrels also asked family and friends to donate cakes and books for a sale at the end of the day raising an incredible £945.39. Finally, congratulations to Harry who won the crossbar challenge.
Head teacher, Sue Williams commented, “We all had a super day and raised an unbelievable amount for Comic Relief. The Stowford community has been so generous helping those less fortunate than themselves. I would like to thank Mr Jackson and Kestrels, the bakers and those who donated books making the day such a success".
